Here is an exciting YouTube video clip by Robin Gates, a certified coach in my Method and student over many years. I am highlighting this clip because it shows the results of building a partnership from the ground using the Waterhole Rituals™ and how effective it is with warmblood horses to develop trust and a working bond.

In the clip, you can see that Paulo has developed a wonderful gas pedal and brake; a great connection with Robin and a wonderful work ethic in full focus and he has an undeniably enthusiastic nature. His ears are not back and he is relaxed and forward. The connection that Robin gained with the Waterhole Rituals™ translates to the saddle with the same integrity.

Paulo was once a very fearful horse, difficult to manage, overly spirited and could really intimidate people easily. He had been to one very good trainer, who after several months said that he was getting worse. Warmbloods can be very difficult sometimes on these points. When Robin got him, she said that he was completely unmanageable and only focused on wanting to get back to the herd. She pointed out that Paulo had been raised well without any abuse. After Robin had trained Paulo with the Waterhole Rituals™, he turned out to be a dependable horse under saddle as a jumper for his owner.

I frequently see how the most difficult horses can become the most dependable when corrected with the Waterhole Rituals™. I want to emphasize that it takes the skill of a qualified master or talented novice in the Method to do this kind of training with a difficult horse and it should not be attempted by someone without the proper skill set.

When you first use the Waterhole Rituals™ use them on a horse that is kindand willing, easy to get along with so that the relationship and the skills in training can progress effortlessly. Just like when a person begins to learn how to ride, they don’t pick a horse that lacks training or a desire to be ridden as the horse to learn on.
