Exhibitor Bookings Increase Strongly For China Horse Fair 2012
With over 50% of available exhibit space already booked, the China Horse Fair 2012 (CHF 2012) is onceagain set to be the year’s largest and most comprehensive trade event for China’s professional horse sports andleisure industries. To accommodate this year on year increase in exhibitor numbers, CHF 2012 has moved to theBeijing Exhibition Centre which offers a larger more, high spec venue ideally suited to meeting the needs of bothprofessional exhibitors and visitors.
Taking place from 13-15 October 2012, CHF 2012 will be the 6th edition of this successful series which hasconsistently grown in size and the number of international exhibitors it attacts. The organiser forecasts that over50% of its exhibitors will again come from such leading supplier countries as Australia, Belgium, Canada, France,Germany, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland, UK and USA.Commenting on the high level of exhibitor demand, Jane Carter, International Sales Manager for CHF 2012 said, “Topinternational suppliers know that they can’t afford to ignore the Chinese market as it continues its rapid growthand development. The China Horse Fair is recognised as the leading trade event and we see this in the high numberof repeat exhibitors from one year to the next and the many new suppliers it is attracting as its reputation fordelivering quality Chinese contacts spreads across the global industry”.
Identifying the drivers behind this market growth Sonia Ou Yang, CHF 2012 Marketing Manager, said “Increasingnumbers of China’s wealthy and middle-classes are discovering the pleasures of horse sports and leisure activities. In addition China’s national sports bodies are keen to be competitive on the international equestrian stage, so thedemand for quality horses, training facilities, equipment, and services in China keeps increasing. For example,China brought in 4,000 horses last year, which is a tenfold increase from 2006, which means new sales opportunitiesfor international suppliers”.
Confirming this trend, the manager of a well known riding club in Beijing – Yihe Farm, Mr. Chu Wen said, “Weimported 50 Arabian horses and Quarter horses in 2011. They were welcomed by the local market. After importingthese horses, our demand for feed, nutrition and medicine has increased significantly. There are very limitedoptions of suitable horse feed products in the local market, so we have to purchase from overseas, which is notvery convenient. From 2010, we also started to invite foreign coaches to our club to help training our horses, staff and members for the Barrel Racing Competition.“
Mr. Jia from Zhejiang Wenzhou Cajero Horsemanship Club said, “In 2011, we imported 3 horses. The total number ofour imported warm-blood horses in the club is 40-50. Equipment and nutrition are on our purchasing list.International brand nutrition is our favourite.“ He went on to say,” We are planning to visit the CHF 2012 and weexpect to meet with the international suppliers of equipment and nutrition products and horse trainingservices.”
Exporters entering the Chinese market now will be well placed to profit from this expansion by building brandloyalty amongst China’s top buyers and putting into place an effective sales and service network.
