With the weather warming up as we head towards summer again along comes CaribuHorsewear’s Fly Mesh Rug.

This rug is perfect for horses that are susceptible to insect bites, particularly thosefurther north who suffer from Queensland Itch (Sweet Itch) caused by biting insects.

It features really sturdy 420gsm mesh that, unlike lighter models made from 240gsm, can takesome serious punishment while still allowing airflow.

The Fly Mesh Combo also has a hood with ear covers so you know your horse will be fullyprotected from nasty biting things.

The rug features satin lined chest and neck, double chest straps, surcingles, legstraps, neck buckles and comes with an added, clip up collar that sits just behind the head,around the neck, and which prevents the neck rug component slipping down and forward whilethe horse is grazing or eating.

I highly recommend doing the collar up only in a paddock free of things like star pickets ortree branches. I would be afraid of the horse getting hooked on something. Having said thata horse grazing in a good post and rail field, or one with a safe electric fence, should befine.
