Review: DHW’s Trainer’s Choice Cotton Rug

DHW’s Trainer’s Choice Cotton Rug

These cotton rug sets are majorly built for one thing ... comfort!

Summer is now well and truly upon us and you may be thinking about a new summer rug forinsect protection, sun protection or to keep your horse clean.

One of my mares is clipped so I needed a rug to both protect her from biting insects as wellas from the harsh ray’s of the Australian sun.

DHW’s Trainer’s Choice Cotton RugDrover Horsewear’s Trainer’s Choice sets are perfect for all the above mentionedreasons.

The TC rug is made from a light and very soft poly-cotton blend that minimises any kind of‘drag’ on the horse as well as being lovely and cool.

When designing the rug Suzanne at Drover took into account requests she was receiving fromcustomers for certain features. The light weight (but tough – it’s made from Diamond WeaveRipstop) material to assist with coolness is just the start.

DHW’s Trainer’s Choice Cotton RugOther features I really like about these rugs include no centre seam along thetopline of the horse; high shoulder gussets (which are also satin lined); a massive tailtent flap and a great drop on each side.

The fittings are all good quality, especially the really thick and soft pvc strap and buckleat the front – which allows for generous size adjustment – and the covered Velcro neckclosing straps for the neck rug. Oh, and it has reflectors stitched on as well for a littlebit of extra safety. Trim colours come in aqua or port wine.

This is exactly the right product for my horses this summer. The price is alsovery reasonable, $60 (3' - 4'9) to $70 (5' - 7') – about half what you would pay in theshops.
