We did our first ever show on the weekend and I was in desperate need of agood cotton rug to keep my horse clean. Thankfully Caribu came to my rescue!

The Caribu Polycotton Neck Combos are an ideal all season horse Rug.

She wasn’t wrong. I honestly couldn’t be happier with this rug.

The Caribu Ripstop combos feature a 280gsm poly cotton blend. Ideal for the hottest days,but also a good option as an under rug in the cold months.

“All our ripstop fabrics are made from a dual ripstop diamond weave fabric. Whatsets us apart from other manufacturers is we use a cotton and polyester blend, approx 25/75blend,” Jane told me. “This insures the rugs are both strong – but also cool and breathable.Unfortunately most manufactures now use 100% polyester – which isn’t the best option for ahorses comfort.”

It was an absolutely perfect fit too, which is something you can’t always say about a rug,and hadn’t slipped one iota by the next morning, even though he had obviously rolled andrubbed.

The combo features a generous Tent tail flap, belly surcingles, removable webbed leg strapsas well as a generous anti-rub lining in the shoulders and mane area.

In a market where other competitors are saving costs by using Velcro and plastic fittings –Caribu has listened to their customers and bucked the trend - using stainless buckles on theneck and chest fittings.

And the results speak for themselves. My horse came out of the paddock and off the float asclean as a whistle and without a single ruffled hair!

The final thing, and a bit of an odd one, that I really liked … most often when you buy rugsthe leg straps and surcingles are always shortened right up and you have to fiddle aboutadjusting them. When I unpacked this rug, it seemed as though the straps and surcingles werealready pre adjusted at the right length. It was uncanny! Not sure whether this wasdeliberate or not but it certainly made my job just a little easier!

Absolutely fantastic rug whether for paddock or show life.
