The Tamborine-Oxenford Road Causeway on the Coomera River in the Gold Coast has been jammed with various objects and livestock washed away in the recent floods.

Desperate residents, many in tears, arrived at the causeway this morning in frantic hope of saving their animals caught up in the objects � including horse floats, storage sheds and a shipping container � jammed in the river.

It is not known how many horses are trapped in the flood debris.

Another local Oxenford resident was forced to euthanize their horse this morning after it became trapped in rising water under a stairwell on their property.
