Tiger is a handsome, athletic retired racehorse who is now ready to transition into a paddock-only lifestyle. While he isn’t suitable to be ridden due to his behaviour under saddle as he can be hot, tense and a bit silly, he is an absolute pleasure to handle on the ground. He is easy to do everything with - grooming, rugging, feeding and general handling. Tiger gets along well with other horses and is comfortable with mares, without being needy. The Retired Thoroughbred Companion Program will financially assist the transition of eligible thoroughbreds into companion homes. Successful applicants known as a ‘Thoroughbred Companion Owner’ will receive an initial payment for an eligible thoroughbred that can contribute towards the initial purchase of rugs and feed, and towards ongoing costs such as farrier, worming, dentist and other husbandry requirements as well as having the horse transported to their property.
