161 9 Year Old Horses for Sale

Very good looking 9 yr old (Oct 2016) athletic bay TB mare by Adelaide. Approx 16hh (unofficial)THSA registered and Equimillions eligible. Ruby has 3 lovely paces, great confirmation and a bold jump.Last raced in 2023 and retired sound. Currently barefoot and good for farrier, float, teeth, handle etc.Through no fault of her own Ruby has had fairly inconsistent work over the last 2 years but is now back in work and ready for the upcoming season. She is the type that will continue to flourish with further consistent work and education.Despite her limited education she has been out to 4 show jumping comps including an Ag show, and has brought home ribbons and money every time out, easily popping round 80cm courses and schooling 90/95cm at home.She has also been cross country schooling and trail riding.Due to the limited exposure she can get a bit excited when first arriving at a comp but soon settles and every outing she gets better and better, and will only continue to improve the more she does.As a green OTT she is not suitable for beginners or children looking for their first horse but a capable experienced rider who can continue her education will bring out the full potential in her. "Ace" is a solid built, 16hh 9yo warmblood mare, by Billy Raymont's warld cup stallion, "Blucon NZPH" (and his spitting image!) She is a really safe, uncomplicated, straightforward ride, neither strong, spooky or heavy in front, not phased by anything, just point and shoot. Competed up to 1.05m with plenty of style and scope (trained up to 1.15m) but with quality movement and established basic laterals, she could easily be competitive in dressage or eventing. Pretty much unflappable, she is the same whether she was ridden the day before or if she's had a month off, I've even had a couple of my young students compete on her. Mildly affected by Qld itch, but easily managed. Breed or ride, she would make the perfect junior/interschools ride. Videos available, full vet check welcome.

Arabian x ASHVery flashy pony! Not for beginners, Prince needs a strong intermediate-advanced rider. He is quite looky/spooky, and even with the amount of exposure hes had, thats just his nature. As he is a more forward horse, he needs a capable rider that is confident, would excel in a showjumping/competing home. No buck/bolt/rear/pig-root. Very curious and friendly nature with a can-do attitude. Picks up things quickly and just wants to please! I have had Prince for the last 3 years and in these years he has gained a lot of experience and exposure. He is a very talented show jumper and absolutely adores cross country. I have been told by multiple endurance riders that he would be a great endurance mount too. He can go all day and has done massive rides and long days of mustering.3 balanced paces, not completely consistent on the bit, but starting to exhibit self carriage in all places. Picks up correct leads easily to simple changes. At the moment Prince has been jumping 70/80/90 classes (has done an 1m before) and placing often. He is currently schooling up to 1.20cm and extremely scopey. Has been exposed to lots of vehicles, traffic, dogs/other animals, all kinds of scary objects, fill etc. Has been out to a rally days at pc, lots of jump/training days, been out to a working cattle property, the beach, trails, road rides, cross country schools and lessons. Good to float/trim/tie/catch. Good strong hooves - a great doer. Completely sound. Is up to date with everything.

Loves free lunging and joines up beautifully. She has been professionally trained to elementary dressage and has started medium work. With great shoulder control, lovely and responsive to the seat and rein aids. No dirt but because of her training level she will only be sold to a rider that is balanced and soft with their aids.When showjumping she is a careful type that needs a confident rider who is ok with occasional over jumping. She has great scope and I have jumped her up to 85cm with plenty of room to go higher. (I'm a dressage rider and prefer not to go higher) Has freejumped 90cm with room to go higher. Her dressage education makes her a joy to ride while jumping with great adjustability and rythm, she doesn't get strong and comes back with the seat.
