Catherine ‘Call Me Catherine’ 6yo Thoroughbred Mare | 16h Purchased as a yearling for $280,000, Catherine is a real standout with plenty of bling and presence to match her personality. She finished racing in 2024 and has since enjoyed a well-earned spell, transitioning beautifully into life after racing. Catherine is exceptionally well handled and easy to do anything with — drenching, dentist, farrier, floating (both straight and angle load). She’s often described as a “big puppy” who simply loves being involved in whatever her people are doing. Under saddle, she is uncomplicated and genuine. Despite limited post-racing mileage, you can pull her out of the paddock and hop straight on — she’s the same each time and does not require lunging. She moves beautifully in the arena, carries herself in a soft natural frame, and has a lovely rhythmic canter. She shows real enthusiasm for pole work and is proving to be a point-and-shoot type over small fences and grids. She is still green and would benefit from regular, confident riding to continue her education. At this stage she is not a beginner mount, but in capable hands she is shaping up as a very exciting prospect for eventing, showjumping or dressage. Perfect at home and has just started work off property still new to outings but is coming alone very quickly. Catherine is willing, trainable, and genuinely wants to please. In the paddock she is full of character — known to hollow out the middle of a round bale and curl up inside it (sometimes alongside the cat!) She does carry a scar on her near foreleg. It has healed completely and does not affect her soundness or movement in any way. A vet report can be supplied. This may limit her in the show ring but has no impact on her performance potential. Fully shod (has worked comfortably barefoot), up to date with worming, dental and bodywork. This is a very hard sale for her young owner, who is relocating interstate. “Alcazar Isabella” ⬇️ Isabella is a registered Purebred Andalusian mare, Rego S02272. She is out of Kimaio Park Nicoleeda and by Eco (now deceased). Isabella is approx 15.2 hands and is 11 years old. She is heterozygous grey and has given us 3 black foals going grey. She has been green broken very kindly, and ridden bitless, bareback, down the road etc. She was very quiet to ride but also had a good work ethic and I feel she would make a lovely riding horse when brought back into work. She is a wonderful mother, has never been injured or unsound. You can view her progeny as they have their own albums on my Facebook page, “Elouera Andalusian/PRE, Iberian & Lusitano Stud. “Elouera Mireya” and “Elouera Tambo” are both by Monteiro, our Warlander stallion we have now sold. She also had a filly “Elouera Amali” by Twin Rivers Hannes. She is in foal to Monteiro due in September this year. So the foal will be a full sibling is due of “Tambo” and “Mireya”. Isabella is extremely quiet and sensible and excellent to handle in every way. Her foals have all had sensational temperaments. Her foal due by Monteiro will be 75% Andalusian and 25% Friesian, so eligible for rego with AHAA, AFWHS and as a Warlander. This is a difficult decision for us, purely based on our move towards PRE and Iberian and a smaller boutique herd. Her sire “Eco” is renowned for his temperament and his progeny are well known. Her grandsire is Mayville Lodge Nicholas, so she has beautiful breeding on both sides. She needs to be sold to someone in Vic, Tasmania or South Australia as her dam Nicky has had Qld Itch and I believe she had it mildly as well.
