16 Trail Riding Horses for Sale in QLD

Buster was a race horse, after this he was a trial riding horse for a few years and then did not much for a couple of years before I bought him. I purchased him 2 years ago as a quiet horse for my kids to work with. He is very kind, ideally he will go to someone who just wants a horse to look after and do the odd trail ride. He is no good for jumping... well that I know of. He does pull back which i'm sure someone who knows more about horses could work with, he is good to groom and saddle, we often ride him after having not been ridden for a couple of weeks and no problem. He is a good doer. He needs consistent work on his feet to keep them in check as he is prone to cracked hoofs. He would float easily but I haven't put him on a float since I bought him. He is currently at Agistment where he could stay if you were local to Yandina creek or Sunshine Coast, it is really reasonable priced Agistment. Happy to sell him with all his gear included in the price. We don't have the time I wish we did for Buster and he deserve a bit more than we can offer him.

Luna Buckskin Luna is a sweet, sensitive mare who really shines out on the trails. She’s one of the best trail horses you’ll find — confident through most places you'll find. Sure-footed, and happy to go just about anywhere. She’s not marey at all, and she’s great with dogs, traffic, mud, puddles, and all the usual surprises you come across out bush. Established side pass and back up. Come to cue for when out on the trail and you need her to come to you on a log or rock (or whatever) to mount. Started working on dragging and carrying things. She's still a work in progress but moving forward in leaps and bounds. With a confident rider who can walk, trot, and canter independently, she’s a truly handy, enjoyable horse. She suits an intermediate to experienced rider who appreciates a sensitive type and enjoys a responsive partner. Lace is a blingy, forward moving and super chunky mare and is the perfect allrounder for a confident rider. Done jumping, trails, pony club and beach riding. Message for info.

Millie has done pony club training days, jump days and intro endurance rides. She has basic flatwork education however really enjoys getting out and about than lots of arena work.

Senorita AKA Allie 15.2hh Palomino Paint x ASH Mare DOB 27/10/2017 Allie loves trail rides, with or without other horses and is a perfect trail riding buddy who has happily trailed for hours. She would also be a good farm horse to use rounding up cattle etc. Allie is forward moving and has tight turns so she might be great for a jumping or eventing home. She has great brakes and will stop on a dime when you sit heavy and she doesn’t need convincing to change gaits when you ask. She has shown a promising start into show jumping, she doesn’t rush at jumps and has a steady canter. She is not bossy in the paddock and will happily meet you at the gate when called. Currently shod on the front and we recommend keeping them on as she can get foot tender. She is very easy to float in both straight & angle loads, stands quietly for the farrier and easy to wash. Allie had spine x-rays when we purchased her and she has perfect gaps between the vertebrae with absolutely no issues at all. Teeth done 27/05/2025 Hendra vax 12/03/2025 (due 12/03/2026) Allie is forward moving in the walk, trot and canter but nothing uncontrollable. She can become overwhelmed in the arena and will trot fast and be ready to “go”. Because of this, she is NOT suitable for a beginner, novice or intermediate rider. She is best suited to an experienced, knowledgeable home with a calm and soft rider as she is a sensitive mare. She responds well to leg aids and soft hands but reacts with a bossy heavy-handed rider. Sold as out of work and selling as she is not the right fit for my 15yo daughter’s riding abilities.

Good for trail rides. Easy to catch. Loves people. Not beginners horse due to size and age. Happy boy who loves to be around you. Easy to shoe and float.

Music, Haflinger x QH gelding. Good feet, solid foundation with plenty of work in his younger years. Out of work two years, will need experienced home to bring back.
