Sale on behalf of client *Regretful sale of our Beautiful dressage or hacking mount * Our beautiful Raven, 15.2hh, 18yo, light frame TB mare is looking for her forever home. She is best suited to a confident teenager or smaller adult rider who likes to compete in show horse or dressage up to novice level. She’d also enjoy pony club, but needs a confident rider. She has been a very successful interschool mount, competing in interschool state championships with her previous rider. More recently she has been ridden regularly by our 12yo, plus doing some work in a riding school with more experienced riders. As a “been there done that” type of girl, she has a lot to give the right rider. Raven’s pretty versatile, so she may also be suited to other disciplines. Raven has a great work ethic and really enjoys regular work (at least 3x per week). She can be forward and she loves her high energy riding like cantering. She has done jumping and eventing in the past, but she will not be sold as a jumping mount due to some arthritic changes (the price reflects this - happy to discuss with a serious purchaser. X-rays available). She does still love her cavetti's & very low jumps (up to about 40-50cm). She loved her higher level jumping in the past, so she really enjoys having the opportunity to do this lower level work even if she has retired from higher level jumping. Raven is a lovely horse to have around. She catches you in the paddock and is easy to groom, float (angle load), great for the dentist, farrier (currently barefoot) and bodywork, and she’s happy to be tied up when you need her to be (if she has a hay bag she’s pretty much happy with anything). She loves to be groomed and prepped for shows. She’ll stand around lapping up the attention and pampering. Raven’s great with fences. She’s been paddocked both alone and currently with another horse and she’s very happy either way. If she’s paddocked alone she seems to enjoy the company of other horses on the fence line or nearby. She’s hoping to find a new home who can give her the excitement she loves for the rest of her riding days, followed by a loving retirement when the time comes (she thinks she’s a much younger horse, so she doesn’t think retirement is on the cards any time soon).
