Thoroughbred Mare

Maddie is a 16.2hh (approx) 7yo Ottb who retired in 2020 (race name Murano). I have had her for 2 years and unfortunately I have come to realise that my skill level and confidence isn’t a match for her. She has a very dominant personality and will need a very experienced home. I have not ridden her since she has been in my care and am not 100% sure of her other past since racing however have been told that she was ridden then ended up at a horse rescue for a period of time. For most of the time I have had her I have really had no trouble at all, has been easy to groom, have her feet trimmed, worm, has been very attentive in a halter and can be really quite sweet. However she has always been moody and some days uninterested or annoyed. Over the past month she has become unmanageable for me as I have been unable to catch her. Her attitude has changed towards me and her ears are immediately back when I walk in the paddock. I believe that my lack of confidence is the cause of most of her problems and having such a dominant personality she needs someone more experienced who can stand up to her, not back down. Unsure on price, I paid $1000 for her but most importantly I want her to go to a home where she can be happy.
