Bendigo Hosts The Inaugural National Equine Expo

On 21 and 22 November this year Bendigo, Victoria will play host to the nation’s equestrian community when it hosts the inaugural National Equine Expo.

Following the launch of the Bendigo Equine Industry Cluster in December 2008 by the Minister for Regional Development, Jacinta Allan, the Cluster Committee set about planning initiatives to support, promote and enhance the equine industry and related stakeholders in the Greater Bendigo Region. A coalition of the Bendigo Equine Industry Cluster, Bendigo Agricultural Show Society and the City of Greater Bendigo have combined to auspice an Event that is predicted to attract over 5000 attendees from across the nation. Enthusiastic support has been forthcoming from Local Government including Cr. Kevin Gibbons - Mayor of the City of Greater Bendigo, Stan Liacos - Director of City Futures, Key Industry Leaders and Identities, Local Business Leaders, Regional Clubs and Organisations and the general equine community. Planning for the event has progressed well with a large number of trade exhibitors securing sites and many leading industry attractions and identities booked for the 2 Day Event. {sidebar id=3}The Expo will include a trade display, educational programme, indoor and outdoor working displays of equine disciplines including dressage, western, natural horsemanship, carriage driving, and breed displays, together with a professionally produced fashion parade, highlighting the latest clothing available for all disciplines. The event will be compared by Carol Heuchan. Carol is the current Australia Champion Bush Poet and travels the country entertaining at festivals and events. She also writes for equine publications, as well as announcing at horse shows and competitions. The trade show will be open from 9am - 5pm both days, with entry being an affordable $15 per adult.
