Excitement Building For State Showriding

Excitement is building across the state as riders prepare for the last Pony Club State championship for the year. The 2012 Virbac Animal Health State Showriding Championship hosted by Zone 26 will be held over the weekend of the 1-2nd December at Bi-Centennial Park, Camden.

Showriding is an event where horse and rider demonstrate their skills on the flat. The horse is judged on confirmation, paces and manners, whilst riders are judged on their riding ability. Competition is expected to be strong, with this year’s event exceeding 250 competitors. Host Zone 26 has been “buzzing with enthusiasm and promises to present an exciting event that will not only promote the sportsmanship within the pony club movement and show off the talent of our states young riders but provide a relaxed atmosphere for supporters and spectators,” said Mrs Sams. “Zone 26 will be showcasing some of the best horse and rider combinations in NSW these riders include sister duo Demi (U25's) and Broni Sams(U13's) along with Sarah Olsen and Imogen Thew (U13's),” said Mrs Sams. Spectators are most welcome to come and observe with free admission on both days. A canteen will be in operation for the duration of the event along with some exciting equine trade stands. Naming Rights sponsor Virbac Animal Health will be providing welcome packs for all riders, age champion prizes and will also be providing nutritional consultations at their trade stand throughout the weekend.
